Introduction to On-line Monitoring and SCADA

This is a technical course that provides practical experiences to participants in the use of advanced techniques for the monitoring of stations and their units/equipment using modern instruments and programs. This course is a part of  Water Treatment Process Control and Instrumentation.

Course main Topics:

  • Supervision Control And Data Acquisition System (SCADA) and its components / uses.
  • Methods of communication between the control station and its units.
  • Centralized control and distribution of instruments.
  • Modern instrumentation used in on-line monitoring.
  • Alarm, voltage, pH meter, integrators, turbidity … etc.
  • Using computer in monitoring and control.
  • RTU, scanning cycle, parity check and universal logic interface (ULT).
  • Using communication techniques in monitoring and control
